THERE ARE A LOT OF THINGS THAT ALCALÁ CAN TEACH US

Its history and his present-day strength allow us to learn from its streets very interesting lessons and new things.

They are things that speak about very different ways of living, among the Castle walls or working in a mill to get advantage of the strength of the river as an engine of the baker industry. Or funny things that will make us smile or even laugh with the witty remarks of some characters that left their stamp and their anecdotes in the collective memory.

Surely Alcalá will surprise you with something you did not know, with a costume you have not heard of, with a story full of characters between History and legend or with a taste you surely would have liked to know before. Because after your visit, be sure that you will know new things and it may happen that you took some of them with you in order to use them in your everyday life: A recipe, a surprising story or a healthy habit.

We are showing here some of those things. But it is essential that you completed this with some practical experiences on the ground and taught by the same Alcalá professors.

The Guardian of the Castle

From the battlements of the barbican tower, the caliph's wife watched tirelessly her children's games. On the soft slope at the foot of the castle, the children ran with their wooden swords fighting imaginary enemies, defending the fortress against legendary monsters.

Flamenco

The history and evolution of Flamenco have placed Alcalá de Guadaíra in one of its pillars thanks to the soleá. If its music was originated in the beginning in Triana, it is in Alcalá where it is re-elaborated, it is given another aroma and it catches another colour, just as if we were talking about a painter's palette.
