From Education's Centre for Sustainable Tourism "Riberas del Guadaíra" we develop educational activities through informative actions, which are useful and participatory, immerse in a matchless environment and with direct contact with natural, heritage's, touristic, cultural and of sustainable character elements of the locality.
RESOURCES AND INFRASTRUCTURES
Contents are located in two expositive areas, one inside and another one outside, associated according matters with different resources like pictures, texts, sounds, applications, scale models, touchable elements, games, guided routes, etc.
INSIDE AREA
At the Exposition Room you will discover how the River's presence has made possible the development of animal and plant life at its surroundings, why the construction of the water mills in the Guadaíra banks was a reference in former and later history of Alcalá de Guadaíra, and also Alcalá's natural, cultural and tourist heritage, etc.
Besides, during the audiovisual show you will be able to travel over the original natural environment of the Guadaíra banks, the cultures that have been passed through them, traditions, the human intervention and its future. With the help of its soundtrack, you will be caught in the surroundings of the "Alive River, Dead River", where you will learn to associate sounds to different environmental messages.
You will be able to locate in the scale model of the Banks of the Guadaíra different points of natural, cultural, tourist and sports interest, like the Mills, the Dragon Bridge, the natural environment, the Town of Culture and the Fortified Enclosure, among others. Do you dare to know them?
OUTSIDE AREA
The model displaying "A River's Lives" exposition, has an average length of 25 metre, and invites you to take a surprising journey through time, by means of a symbolic recreation, by the River Guadaíra. You will see the vital estate of a River according to its degree of conservation, contamination, or recovery, and how it has influence right into the economic and social development of a locality, especially through tourism.
You will also be able to meet an engine driver of a bit eccentric train outlandish who will tell you the story of the Train of the Bakers inviting you at the same time to go with him in a journey on a little train through the whole Centre.
ACTIVITIES
We propose you to get into the surroundings of the River Guadaíra's Banks, where our monitors will take you along the most beautiful spots, making the trip more enjoyable by giving you heritage as well as historic information, talking about legends, proposing games and songs.
Besides, in our Eco-cultural Workshops you will be able to make the famous typical bread from Alcalá, to analyze the River Guadaíra's physicochemical properties, to discover how the flour mills worked, to make beads, objects and presents with material you cannot imagine it could be possible to. You will be able to play, to laugh, to respect, to share... We are waiting for you to come!
