The XXX edition of the José Muñoz Castillejo Children’s and Young People’s Theater Festival begins.

Ten groups will perform a wide variety of works on the stage of the Gutiérrez de Alba from May 15 to 28. The delegate of Youth, Paula Fuster, highlights the contribution of the performing arts to the personal development of young people, their confidence and social interaction.

The Muestra de Teatro Infantil y Juvenil José Muñoz Castillejo, an initiative of the City Council of Alcalá de Guadaíra to promote the performing arts for the benefit of the personal development of students, celebrates its XXX edition. The delegate of Youth, Paula Fuster, has highlighted “the importance that has had during these years for so many young people their participation in the world of theater and the experience that has entailed being part of a collective project of performing arts, for their personal growth, self-confidence, self-improvement, security, companionship … in a cultural and positive environment”. That is why he has reiterated “the firm commitment of the municipal government team so that the theater continues to be part of the lives of young people, encouraging the love of theater among the public and at the same time serve as a breeding ground for new actors and theater groups to emerge in the city”.

This has been expressed in the presentation of the 2024 program that will run from Wednesday May 15 to 28, staging (always at 21 hours) varied representations of 10 groups, supported in many cases by theater companies but also by the primary and secondary schools themselves.

In fact, this special ephemeris began with a coexistence, which involved the own Fuster accompanied by the delegate of Education, Pablo Chain, with the theater groups themselves with a joint performance staged for the occasion and the sharing of what will be this edition. The delegates have taken the opportunity to thank the schools and groups involved for the perseverance shown so that a theatrical initiative of these characteristics can reach 30 years of life.
