Alcalá de Guadaíra is part of the locations of the first film directed by the international actress from Seville and winner of a Goya, Paz Vega, entitled ‘Rita’ under the production of Áralan Fims in association with Oda Films.

From Monday onwards, filming will take place in different parts of the city, specifically in central areas of Nuestra Señora del Águila street, Plaza del Cabildo and Herreros street.

Set in Seville in 1984, the plot follows Rita and Lolo, two siblings aged 7 and 5, who live in the heart of a working-class family, just when the summer vacations begin and the whole country is in turmoil with the European Football Championship, a competition in which Spain has reached the quarter-finals. Sweltering in the heat, Rita dreams of going to the beach, but life in the neighborhood has other surprises in store for her.

Starring Sofía Allepuz and Alejandro Escamilla, in the role of the little ones, and with Paz Vega herself, Roberto Álamo, Daniel Navarro, Paz de Alarcón, Amada Santos and Margarita Asquerino in the cast, the film talks about how children adapt to reality as it comes to them, about their ability to overcome and survive, but also about the awakening of the senses of a girl who must mature in a few days and at a stroke of reality due to certain circumstances.
